About Me​

I've been the primary instructor for four different courses:

• Philosophy of Mind

  • Theories of consciousness, intentionality, and perception

• Science Fiction in Literature and Film

  • Philosophical topics explored through the lens of science fiction

• Critical Thinking

  • Basics​ of logic and arguments, with a section on live ethical issues

• The Philosophy of Happiness

  • Classical and contemporary views on pursuing happiness and the good life​

I have included some of my PowerPoint slides for these courses below. I try not to rely too heavily on slides. I want students to feel that we're doing something broadly collaborative, and I find it easier to generate that dynamic if I'm writing on the board, rather than presenting a PowerPoint I made in advance. But, at the same time, I know students also find the slides useful, particularly if English is not their first language.
